COMPOSITION

Each film coated tablet contains: Atorvastatin Calcium equivalent to Atorvastatin 40 mg.

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

Film Coated Tablets.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS

Indicated for primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and prevention of cardiovascular events including myocardial infarction and stroke.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

To be taken as directed by the physician. Typically once daily dosing. Can be taken with or without food.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to Atorvastatin, active liver disease, pregnancy and lactation.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

Monitor liver enzymes periodically. Use caution in patients with renal impairment, history of liver disease or alcohol abuse. Risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

CYP3A4inhibitors (e.g., clarithromycin, ketoconazole) increase plasma concentration. Use caution with fibrates and other lipid-lowering agents.

USE IN SPECIAL POPULATIONS

• Pregnancy:
• Lactation: Not recommended.
• Pediatric: Safety not established.
• Geriatric: No dose adjustment required.

ADVERSE EFFECTS

• Common: headache, nausea, diarrhea, muscle pain.
• Rare: rhabdomyolysis, liver enzyme elevation.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Atorvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor that reduces cholesterol synthesis and increases LDL receptor activity.

OVERDOSAGE

No specific treatment. Supportive care recommended. STORAGE Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
